Duties and
resnsibilities: Veterinarians who do not specialize in either
large or small animals may work in a rural mixed practice and treat all types
of animals. Veterinarians administer vaccines, do health check-ups,
clean teeth, fix broken bones, treat skin infections and perform surgeries.
Salary:144,000 a year
Education: Students who wish to enter a
veterinary program typically obtain bachelor's degrees in science-related
areas, like zoology, molecular biology, chemistry, animal science and
biochemistry. In some instances, veterinary programs do not require students to
hold four-year degrees
Reflection: I would
like to be a vet because it is really cool and they get paid well.
